These images were obtained during my 15 day stay in Iceland when attending an Advanced Studies Institute on Tephra Studies as a Tool in Quaternary Studies, held in Laugarvatn, Iceland from 18 to 29 June 1980, which included 3 field trips in Southern Iceland.

The final field trip was a week going through some of Iceland's remotest places. Hardly being on "roads" for the most of the days. 4-wheel drive buses were the norm and when one broke down as one did. It had to be repaired as we travelled.
