Panorama of the middle section of the quarry. Here the blocky top of the flow can be seen to thicken and thin due to the different rates of cooling within different parts of the cooling unit. There is a sharp boundary between the blocky top unit and the columns beneath. Note on the left side how the top blocky unit changes to a columnar jointed unit with the columns radiating in to Steam Vent No. 3.
