Another good example of the columns radiating in towards Steam Vent 3. The centre of the steam vent is at about the position marked by the yellow truck tray. In the forground the radiating colomns have been removed except for the columns closest to the vent. So the area on the right, around the steam vent, that looks similar to the blocky lava, is in fact looking at the cross-sections through near horizontal columns. |
