Dyke 2. This dyke, unlike dyke 1 did not extend through to the top surface of the flow and it is
only the columnar jointing here
that
distinguishes this
dyke from the blocky upper part of the flow. Note the fanning nature of the columns in the dyke and envisage the cooling surfaces. |
